Six major events

To taste Burgundy wine

In Burgundy, there’s always an opportunity to taste the region’s finest vintages! A land of encounters, exchanges and culture, the region knows how to attract wine lovers and enthusiasts. With the help of winegrowers and merchants, the Côte-d’Or’s winegrowing villages stage one event after another in honor of their vineyards. From Beaune to Nolay, take advantage of these 6 convivial moments to share the secrets of winemaking with friends or family.

01. Wine Sales

At the Hospices de Beaune

Every 3rd Sunday in November, Beaune pulls out all the stops! On the occasion of the remarkable Hospices de Beaune wine auction, join wine lovers and connoisseurs for the sacred and traditional Burgundy event. In addition to the city’s many festivities and events, enjoy the prestigious tastings organized by the winegrowers of the wine villages. Let your taste buds dance under the subtle aromas of Hospices wines and rare vintages that accompany local specialties. During the auction, you can support the charitable work of the Hospices Civils de Beaune. You can also take part in the auction through Maison Albert Bichot. Every year, this famous wine house offers you the chance to bid on the finest wines from the Hospices de Beaune. Then, on Sunday afternoon, attend the auction broadcast on a giant screen on Place de La Halle, just a few steps from the sales room. Personalities from the world of wine come to bid for one or more barrels from the 60-hectare Hospices de Beaune estate. More than just a getaway to Beaune, the wine auction is a chance to experience an authentic weekend. Mark your calendars!

2. Coup d'Oeil, Coup de Coeur

in Auxey-Duresses

Held on the 4th weekend in October, this grand celebration in the picturesque wine village of Auxey-Duresses is well worth a visit. Set against a sublime backdrop of colorful vines, some twenty winegrowers vie with each other to turn your autumnal Burgundy escapade into a real “coup de coeur”. Discover their vineyards and enjoy the open cellars. Let yourself be carried away by local hospitality. Enjoy tastings of Auxey-Duresses wines and Burgundy specialities, and admire craft exhibits… Meet enthusiasts who are always happy to share their love of the trade. Among the participants, the Pruniers et Fille estates and the André et Bernard Labry estate are sure to satisfy your taste buds.

3. Le Printemps de Monthelie

On a trip to the Beaune region, stop off at Monthelie. On the heights of Meursault, the narrow, winding streets of this charming wine-growing village offer irresistible medieval strolls: its château, home to Domaine De Suremain, its old houses and its washhouse. Every Easter weekend, Printemps de Monthelie invites all oenologists and wine lovers to visit the open cellars of local winegrowers. Between visits to the estates and wine walks, take advantage of free tastings to familiarize yourself with the tannin, smoothness and color of the red and white wines for which Burgundy is famous. To the sound of musicians and entertainment in the various cellars and streets of the village, let yourself be swept away by the good mood of the festive villagers and the double effect of Monthelie’s terroirs…

4. Saint-Vincent Tournante

In honor of the patron saint of winegrowers, the Saint-Vincent Tournante is celebrated each year in a new village. The concept: one appellation invites the others! For the occasion, the villages embellish their tasting stands with paper flower decorations and self-explanatory signs such as “Wine, for drinking. Water for shaving”. There’s plenty of preparation to go with it: humorous sketches, a parade-procession of costumed brotherhoods, street performers, brass bands, travelling shows and the enthronement ceremony. One thing’s for sure: these events are guaranteed to be a good time with friends. What’s more, these 2 days of festivities bring together lovers of Burgundy wine and festivities alike! Saint-Vincent festivals in Côte d’Or :

  • in 2023, the Saint-Vincent Tournante took place in Couchey
  • in 2024, it was held in Morey-Saint-Denis and Chambolle-Musigny in the nuiton region
  • in 2025, it took place in Ladoix-Serrigny
  • in 206, it will be in Maranges

And don’t forget to bring your tasting kit!

5. From Bach to Bacchus

in Meursault

Imagine strolling through the streets of a medieval village, glass in hand, to the music of Chopin, Mozart or Schuman. A scene from a film? A unique experience at the Festival Musical des Grands Crus de Bourgogne-Franche-Comté in Meursault. Founded in 1986 by Yves Henry, the Bach à Bacchus festival is a delight for visitors, who come to applaud the talented artists as they perform in some of Meursault’s most emblematic venues. In addition to classical music concerts, the event will delight wine and Burgundy gastronomy enthusiasts, offering tastings in the company of singers and musicians. In the open air, in the cellars or in the homes of Murisaltiens… Fanfare, organ, jazz, piano and unusual ensembles resonate during your tastings. A tribute to the nobility of Burgundy wines, the festival combines vineyards and music in a refined cultural marriage. If you’re a Burgundy wine enthusiast and a music lover, this musical and oenological journey is for you! Every year, the program includes concerts, wine tasting and places to discover…for a magical weekend in Côte-d’Or. Discover the festival on video

6. From Cep to Glass

in Nolay

What if wine tourism was a little more than wine tasting? That’s what the town of Nolay is demonstrating with its friendly “De cep en Verre” event. So, meet up in the village’s historic center, where every year some forty artisans are waiting to share their trades with you. Activities such as circus arts, jugglers, stilt-walkers and fire-eaters are there to entertain young and old alike… The locals know how to entertain and move during this festive weekend! Children can enjoy basket-weaving or mosaic workshops, or take a trip back in time with wooden games. It’s all part of a friendly, poetic atmosphere. At the end of your stay, rely on the winemakers of the Hautes Côtes de Beaune to teach you the secrets and traditions of Burgundy wines. For Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and dating enthusiasts, Burgundy’s wine events are the perfect excuse to visit the region and share epicurean moments with friends and family. A tasting in a cellar, a hike in the vineyards, a concert in a cellar… Immerse yourself for a weekend in the lives of the people who shape this unique vineyard.
