MONTHELIE

The village, built on a hillside, depended in the Middle Ages on the abbey of Cluny. Its vineyards, with their fine, elegant wines, adjoin Volnay to the north, Meursault to the south and Auxey-Duresses to the west. A walking trail, “Le Sentier des Buis”, takes in the village, the 12th-century church and its pretty glazed-tile bell tower the 18th-century château as well as vineyards, glades and undergrowth.
