BOUILLAND

An ancient Eduen village at the bottom of the bubbling Rhoin valley, 15 km west of Beaune, Bouilland, “Burgundy’s little Switzerland”, is close to Sainte-Marguerite Abbey, built in 1100. It’s a paradise for peregrine falcons and, with its cliffs offering 375 climbing routes, for rock-climbing enthusiasts.

The cliffs around Bouilland are impressive. The Rhoin Valley trail is well worth the detour. It’s 10 km of forest, pretty clearings, splendid panoramas over the valley, happiness!
