On the Via Agrippa, an ancient Roman road, the village is a peaceful hamlet halfway between the Côte vineyards and the Gallo-Roman sites of Autunois and Auxois. A place of passage, as evidenced by the Epinac-Les Laumes railway line, now a popular greenway for walkers.
