At the crossroads of the great ancestral axes Autun-Beaune and Nolay-Arnay-le-Duc, Molinot was owned in the Middle Ages by the lords of Nolay, and at the beginning of the 20th century, because of its proximity to Epinac-les-Mines, was very dependent on mining.
