Bordering the A6 freeway and 8 km south of Beaune, the village of Merceuil comprises one commune, and two hamlets, Cissey and Morteuil. Former gravel pits have been converted into “les Etangs d’Or“, a 200-hectare eco-leisure park with 16 lakes dedicated to fishing and the discovery of biodiversity.

Hikes near Merceuil, just a few minutes from Beaune, are great bucolic interludes for wandering vacations: sentier du hérisson (1.5 km), sentier de l’écureuil (2.1 km), sentier du lièvre (3.5 km), all at Etangs d’Or.
