Between the Corton mountains and Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune is an authentic winegrowing village.

Visit Savigny-lès-Beaune

Come and discover the château de Savigny-lès-Beaune which watches over an amazing collection of Abarth racing cars, over 250 motorcycles and an authentic squadron of fighter planes peacefully lined up in the park. The village is one of the most charming on the Côte Viticole. To visit, freely follow the 15-step signposted route and enjoy all the facets of a rich heritage (A small illustrated guide “Si Savigny m’était conté” is available for sale at office de tourisme to accompany you on this tour ).

From the church of Saint-Cassien and its splendid listed Romanesque bell tower, to the formal garden of the Chandon de Briailles manor house , the village has some wonderful discoveries in store for you. And don’t forget the inscriptions carved into the stone of the houses. Full of winegrower common sense, they state, among other things, that “there are five reasons to drink: the arrival of a guest, present thirst, future thirst, not forgetting the quality of the wine and all the others you’d like to imagine.

Nourishing, theological and morbifugal wines

A historic vineyard with illustrious owners such as the Dukes of Burgundy, the Cistercians and even the Popes, who described the crus of Savigny-lès-Beaune as “theological”. The appellation, one of the largest in Burgundy, comprises almost 350 ha. of vines. A rarity in the Côte de Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune also produces a festive wine: Crémant de Bourgogne.

Savigny-lès-Beaune celebrates

Savigny-lès-Beaune’s calendar of events pays tribute to the festive traditions of the wine world with a number of events. First and foremost are those of the Cousinerie de Bourgogne, a winegrowers’ brotherhood whose cheerful banquets punctuate the year, accompanied by their motto “toujours gentilshommes sont Cousins” (“always gentlemen are cousins”). On the 1st weekend of May, the winegrowers invite you into the secret of their cellars to taste their vintages. At the beginning of October, you’ll take part in the “Banalités autour du four”, an opportunity to buy your pizza baked the old-fashioned way in the communal oven. It’s also an opportunity to stroll around and discover, or rediscover, handcrafted products at our Gastronomic and Artisanal Market. On the 3rd Saturday in October, the Foulée des Vendanges, a race through the golden vineyards of autumn, is a must for all sports enthusiasts.
