Caves Patriarche

1- 10 great Burgundy wines to taste

The Caves Patriarche are worth the detour alone. Their network of subterranean rooms and dark corridors decorated with Burgundy grands crus is impressive to explore. To help you find your way around, there are labels with names that make you dream, and bottles that have been ageing in the cellars for many years. A visit to Beaune during the weekend of the Vente des Vins is an opportunity to tour these exceptional cellars and taste a few fine bottles.

The Marché aux Vins welcomes you to a tasting of 6 wines in its 15th-century cellars. Of the 6, 4 are Premiers Crus 🤩. Their catalog is varied, offering wines from numerous Côte de Beaune and Hautes Côtes de Beaune estates. Among other wines: 1 Pommard 1er Cru Cuvée Dames de la Charité 2019 from Hospices de Beaune or 1 Volnay 1er Cru “Clos des Chênes” 2018, Château de Meursault (red wine).

Escape the hustle and bustle of downtown Beaune to the typical Côte de Beaune village of Meursault. Château de Meursault offers a tour that’s as much about wine as it is about history. The experience begins with a tour of the incredible cellars, some of which date back to the 11th century. Then the tasting will focus on 6 or 8 prestigious Côte de Beaune wines, depending on your selection.
