Ah! the yellow jersey, a symbol of the Tour de France 2024! It will be on the roads of our regions from 06/29 to 07/21/2024.

In Burgundy and Côte d’Or, the Tour de France runs from 04 to 06/07/2024. Don’t forget these dates!

Overview

The official route

The riders taking part in this 111th edition will set off with a Grand Départ from Florence-Firenze in Italy for a historic first stage in a row, while the final finish will take place between Monaco and Nice with a 35-kilometer individual time trial.

No finish on the Champs-Elysées in Paris this year

Tour de France

In figures, the Tour de France 2024 means :

  • a total of 3,492 kilometers
  • 7 mountain stages with 4 high altitude finishes
  • 2 individual time trials
  • 32 kilometers of white roads
  • 53,230 meters of positive vertical drop

  • 2,802 meters of altitude for the Bonette, the roof of the Tour 2024.

The Grand Loop passes through the Côte d’Or, from 04 to 06/07/2024.

  • July 4, stage 6, Macon/Dijon, 163 km, flat stage.
  • July 5, stage 7, Nuits-Saint-Georges/Gevrey-Chambertin, 25 km, individual time trial organized as part of the stage race.
  • July 6, stage 8, Semur en Auxois / Colombey les deux églises, 176 km, flat stage.

In partnership with the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region, the SNCF is offering special rates for this major Tour de France event. Tickets start at €6, so you can watch the race up close and personal with the riders.

Sixth and seventh stages in Côte d'Or

6th stage - flat

Mâcon - Dijon

On July 4, 2024, the runners coming from Mâcon will enter our department via Corpeau, before passing through villages located on the wine-growing coast:

After a quick return to the roads of Saône-et-Loire, the Tour will pass through Meursanges, Corberon, Labergement-lès-Seurre, Pouilly-sur-Saône, Auvillars-sur-Saône, Broin, Saint-Nicolas-lès-Cîteaux, Izeure, Longecourt-en-Plaine, Thorey-en-Plaine, Rouvres-en-plaine, Fauverney, Neuilly-Crimolois, Sennecey-lès-Dijon, Longvic and on to Dijon, capital of the Dukes of Burgundy.

It’s 163 km of flat countryside through vineyards and bocages.

The route through Meursault and the Beaune region

The riders will enter Meursault from the south on the D113B at around 3:38 pm. The caravan will pass by at 2pm. They will pass the Château de la Velle, then the Château de Meursault, before heading for Tailly on the D23. In Meursault, the fanzone will be set up at Place De l’Europe from 11am to 5pm. The fanzone will feature cycling-related entertainment and light refreshments.

Access to Meursault and the streets will be partially closed between 9 and 6.30pm. Authorized parking areas:

  • Ancienne Moutarderie de Meursault: access on rue des Ecoles
  • Public school parking lots (closed on this day): rue des Ecoles
  • Half of the Cîteaux parking lot
  • Square Dusserre parking lot
  • And along the vineyards on rue Moulin Landin
  • Place de l’Hôtel de Ville (favored for shops)
  • Place du Murger (favored for shops)

Tour de France passes through Chagny

Runners will enter Chagny on the D981 to join the Nationale 6 to the north. The streets will be partly closed between 8 and 6 pm. Parking lots outside the riders’ path will remain accessible.

To come and cheer on the teams and stars of the Tour, please plan ahead and arrive early in Chagny. And prefer to travel on foot or by bike 😉.

Village 71

All-day entertainment on July 4

The Tour caravan will enter Chagny at exactly 1:33pm. The riders will follow at 3.24pm.

To keep you waiting, or to prolong the pleasure, the Village 71 will be hosting this special Tour de France day. Here’s the program:

  • Freestyle urban sports show
  • Musical entertainment and DJ
  • Children’s face painting
  • Snacks and refreshments
  • Stage broadcast on giant screen
  • Distribution of supporter packs
  • Photo activities

Seventh stage - Against the clock

Nuits-Saint-Georges > Gevrey-Chambertin

The route of the 7th stage of the Tour de France 2024, and 2nd stage in the Côte-d’Or, will take place on Friday, July 5. It’s a brand-new stage between Nuits-Saint-Georges and Gevrey-Chambertin for an individual time trial. Riders will discover the Route des Grands Crus and the Hautes-Côtes at high speed.

The Tour will pass through Villars-Fontaine, Messanges, L’Etang-Vergy, Reulle-Vergy, Curley, Chambolle-Musigny and Morey-Saint-Denis.

25 km at full speed.

8th stage: flat

Semur-en-Auxois - Colombey-les-Deux-Églises

The route of stage 8, on July 6, will be 176 km flat. This 3rd stage in the Côte-d’Or will start in Semur-en-Auxois, the most cyclist town in the Côte-d’Or.

Before reaching Haute-Marne, the Peloton will pass through the following towns: Saint-Euphrone, Pouillenay, Brain, Posanges, Vitteaux, Villy-en-Auxois, Verrey-sous-Salmaise, Bligny-le-Sec, Saint-Seine-L’Abbaye, Vaux-Saules, Lamargelle, Poiseul-la-Grange, Echalot, Minot and Beneuvre.
